Performance Analysis
Patriot opened with decent numbers on Day 1 thanks to the star power of two Malayalam superstars. However, the weekdays saw a free fall. The film has now entered a phase where it is adding negligible amounts even on weekends. At ₹140Cr budget, a 0.21x ratio is a clear Disaster.
The high budget, combined with poor word-of-mouth, has proven fatal. Spy thrillers need strong narrative grip and repeat value — something this film clearly lacked. Even the overseas collections of ₹41Cr are not enough to save the film from heavy losses.
The Mahesh Narayanan directorial had massive expectations, but it failed to deliver the mass appeal needed for a big-budget pan-India attempt. This once again proves that star power alone is not enough in today’s competitive market.
