Michael collected $14.7M on Day 16, taking its US domestic total to $241.9M.

Strong hold for a musical biopic in its third weekend.
The film posted a small +1.2% jump from the previous day — impressive at this stage. It dropped only 14.8% week-on-week, showing healthy audience retention.
Performance Analysis
Michael has emerged as one of the better-performing biopics in recent years. The combination of Antoine Fuqua’s direction and Jaafar Jackson’s performance as Michael Jackson is clearly resonating with audiences. The musical sequences and emotional depth are working in its favor.
At $155M budget, the film is currently at 1.52x in the US alone. With strong overseas numbers ($240M+), the worldwide total looks solid. However, it still needs stronger final legs to be considered a clear blockbuster.
The film has benefited from nostalgia around Michael Jackson’s legacy. It has also managed to attract both older audiences who grew up with his music and younger viewers discovering his work. This cross-generational appeal is rare for biopics.
